Wade McGuffey is a founding partner in Goodman McGuffey Lindsey & Johnson, LLP, and is CEO for the firm.  Wade leads the firm's workers' compensation practice and handles matters related to human resources and employment law, as well as commercial and construction contracts.  Wade has been working closely with insurance companies and commercial clients for over 20 years, handling workers' compensation and all insurance matters, including coverage, employment and general defense litigation.  AV Rated.

Wade is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and The Florida Bar; and is active in the Atlanta Bar Association (Director, Workers' Compensation Section, 1994 to 1996, Secretary/Treasurer 1997, Chair-Elect 1998 & Chair 1999); Defense Research Institute; Georgia Self-Insurer's Association; Georgia Defense Lawyers Association; Atlanta Claims Association; Society for Human Resource Management and Lawyers Club of Atlanta.  Wade is also a certified mediator.  He has spoken to numerous groups on a variety of legal topics including workers' compensation, disability discrimination, ethics, personnel law and OSHA and is an instructor in the State Board of Workers' Compensation Certified Workers' Compensation Program.  He is a member of the Chairman's Advisory Council, Medical Subcommittee, of the State Board of Workers' Compensation, and was a member of the Courts Task Force of Citizens for Dunwoody.  He is the Chair of the Ethics Board, City of Dunwoody.  He was the Editor, An Employer's Guide to Georgia Workers' Compensation Law, Second Edition, and Employee Leasing: An Employer's Guide.  He is an Honorary Life Member, Young Agents Committee, Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia and has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as a Super Lawyer multiple times.

He received both his undergraduate degree in 1973 and his law degree (cum laude) in 1976 from the University of Georgia where he was on the Editorial Staff, Georgia Law Review.  He was a Captain, JAGC, U.S. Air Force, 1976-1980.  He was born in Decatur, Georgia in 1951.
