Elissa B. Haynes is an Associate Attorney at Goodman McGuffey, LLP where she represents insurers in a wide array of liability matters throughout Georgia in both State and Federal Courts. Elissa has experience defending cases involving automobile collisions, catastrophic injuries, premises liability, religious institutions, insurance coverage, property damage, and 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claims.
Elissa is a graduate of the 2016 State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyer’s Division (“YLD”) Leadership Academy wherein participants are selected through a competitive application process and complete a six month program aimed at developing leadership skills as well as learning more about the legal profession, our local communities, and the State of Georgia. In June of 2016, Elissa was elected to serve a two-year term as a Northern District Representative on the YLD Representative Council wherein she also co-chairs the YLD Legislative Affairs Committee.
Elissa graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice. She received her law degree in 2011 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where she was an active member of the Moot Court Program, winning first place and the award for “Best Oral Argument” at the Tulane Sports Law Competition and later serving on the Executive Moot Court Board. Additionally, Elissa received three Law Excellence Awards for the highest grade in Pretrial Litigation, Copyright Law and Moot Court, in addition to the ABA-BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law.
Elissa was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia and currently resides in Chamblee.
